REQUALIFICAÇÃO DE MOINHOS

O projecto trata da reabilitação de um conjunto de moinhos de água, aproveitando-os enquanto pontos de aprendizagem sobre a especificidade do eco-sistema, cultura e tradições locais. Pretende-se que esta intervenção esteja conectada a uma rede de percursos pedestres, sendo esta uma aposta clara na promoção de um turismo lento, sustentável e de emaravilhamento pelo meio natural.
Cada moinho será consolidado, conservando o seu estado actual e mantendo a sua natural integração no esplêndido cenário das ribeiras. As levadas e canais de água adjacentes serão também reabilitadas.
O interior de cada moinho será revestido a microcimento pigmentado, ficando cada espaço associado a uma cor e a um tema didáctico específico.
A cobertura será reposta segundo a volumetria original, com a adição de um óculo central que deixa a luz natural entrar e permite uma nova leitura da vegetação envolvente.

This project is about the rehabilitation of water mills, using them as learning points about the specificity of the local eco-system, culture and traditions. It is intended that this intervention is connected to a network of walking trails, which is a clear commitment to promote slow tourism, sustainable, emarveling by this natural environment.
Each water mill will be consolidated, retaining its current state and maintaining its natural integration into the splendid setting of the streams. The water chanels will also be rehabilitated.
The interior of each mill will be coated with pigmented microcement, becoming each space associated to a specific color and educational theme.
The roof will follow the original volume and proportions, with the addition of a central oculus that lets natural light in and allows a new reading of the surrounding vegetation.
