CASA NO CHÍCHARO2007-, TORRES NOVAS, EM CONSTRUÇÃO

O programa consiste em construir uma casa com três quartos em cima de um armazém existente onde há uns anos foi construída uma laje e uma pequena varanda justamente com essa ideia de mais tarde construir a casa.
Tendo em conta as condicionantes do armazém existente e as limitações económicas, a forma da casa acaba por estar automaticamente definida à partida: uma caixa que assenta na estrutura existente. Os quartos são colocados a nascente, as casas-de-banho viram-se a poente, bem como a cozinha que olha para uma oliveira centenária e uns choupos de grandes dimensões que no Inverno deixam o sol entrar e no verão a sua folhagem proporciona uma agradável sombra. A varanda existente será mantida e “duplicada” como pala. No topo sul temos a sala cuja esquina sul/nascente é “cortada” na diagonal de modo a que a varanda possa alargar e oferecer uma área de estar exterior protegida do sol e da chuva, com vistas privilegiadas sobre o vale que se prolonga no horizonte.

Chícharo House. The program consists in building a house with three bedrooms on top of an existent warehouse where some years ago was built a slab and a small balcony precisely with that idea of later building the house.
Considering the restrictions of the existent warehouse and the budget limitations, the form of the house is automatically defined at start: a box that lays on the existent structure. The bedrooms are turned east; the bathrooms are turned west, as well as the kitchen that looks at a centenary olive tree and a few big Populus trees that in winter let the sun in and in summer the dense foliage provides a pleasant shadow. The existent balcony will be maintained and "duplicated" like a sun protection element. In the south side we have the living room which its south/east corner is diagonally "cut" in a way that the balcony could extend and offer an exterior area protected from the sun and the rain, with privileged sights to the valley that extends in the horizon.
